Explore the many possibilities of paint, clay, collage and building with recycled materials.
Little Artists (Ages 1-5)
Designed for our youngest creators, each class provides sensory-based activities, process oriented projects, and circle time with music to keep your active child engaged. These classes focus on exploration and discovery, allowing children to experience art through touch, movement, and play. These classes are held at a beautiful property on Soda Canyon Road that encourages children to connect with nature.
Young Artists (Ages 5-10)
For children ready for more structured learning, these classes are tailored to provide detailed instruction in art techniques and skill development. Students will learn fundamental drawing, painting, and crafting methods while building confidence in their artistic abilities. These classes meet at The Little House Play Studio downtown.
Location
My classes are held on a stunning property in Napa that is owned by a remarkable couple. I first taught their grandchildren at Connolly Ranch, and quickly felt a kindred connection with them and their family. They are true art stewards and generously allow me to use their property for classes - in their words - “as their gift to the children of Napa.”
Classes take place in a beautifully renovated barn that's also used for private gatherings and even the occasional wedding. The property is surrounded by vineyards and offers children access to a garden, a big grassy lawn (perfect for sprinklers in the summer), and a chicken coop - we often visit my chicken Farmington who now lives on the property! Much of the class is held outside with a focus on connecting to nature and giving children space to run, play, and explore.
We also partner with local businesses to offer classes in downtown Napa, CA and elsewhere. See below for our current classes and locations.
Class Design
At this early stage of childhood development, it's natural for children to explore and need to move their bodies. The Art Nest is set up with different stations that invite children to explore and engage at their own pace. This approach is based on the idea that the environment is the third teacher - the first being the parent, the second the teacher, and the third the physical space itself.
The Art Nest is more than just art classes. I use my preschool background to create an environment that includes play, sensory exploration, connecting to nature, circle time, and, of course, art.
The Art Nest is also about building community and supporting caregivers during a time that can often feel isolating and lonely. My goal is to support caregivers as they navigate the challenges of caring for their little ones. I love welcoming grandparents, aunts, uncles, and babies - everyone is part of our community. The Art Nest provides a safe and magical space where children and families can explore and grow together.

Little Artists
(ages 1-5)
Tuesday & Wednesday mornings
9:30-10:30amLittle Artists is a caregiver-and-child class where art follows the children’s own curiosity—I build each project around what they’re into as I get to know them, alongside circle time, chicken visits, and open play. Think of it as a gentle pre-preschool: a place to socialize, explore, and create at their own pace, with no expectation that they will be making art the whole hour.

Young Artists
(ages 5-10)
This drop-off class for ages 5-10 gives kids the chance to dive deeper into art-painting, clay, and building with recycled materials-while developing real technique and the focus that comes with sustained, independent project time. It’s a great fit for homeschool schedules or after-school enrichment; dates to be determined.
